Today a review of the José Eber clipless curling iron.
It is great to be back in the Netherlands for a few weeks. I spent some time with my family and friends and paid a visit to the some city centers. To be completely fair with you, in general I like the shopping in Holland better than in Israel. I think that there are more quality shops here when it comes to buying cosmetics and/or clothing. Our department stores in the Netherlands are also bigger and have way more quality goods to offer their customers. As I currently live in Israel I always postpone shopping until I am in Holland. However, I must say that shopping in Israel can be a wonderful experience when visiting all kinds of design shops with uniquely designed goods made by talented young Israeli designers. So actually, there is something to say for both places.
I went to a huge department store in The Hague (Bijenkorf) and saw a young lady in a separate stand selling these infrared curling irons by José Eber. First I was skeptical when she asked to test the iron on my hair. But when I sat down in the chair and noticed how the iron didn’t become as hot as my ceramic hair straightener and curled my hair in one stroke, I was amazed. My hair became smooth and shiny and the curls were bouncy and well-defined. The lady told me that this product works with an infrared technology and that this is far superior to traditional heating methods. I was convinced and bought the product with a lifetime warranty.
As I said before, I already have a pricy ceramic hair straightener, which becomes really hot and straightens the hair perfectly. It has served my hair for years. Though I don’t think it’s good to heat the hair like this. I could always see a lot of steam coming off and that means that it takes moisture out of the hair.
What struck me when using this José Eber infrared curling iron, was that the iron doesn’t become that hot when compared to my traditional ceramic hair straightener. And more important, it curls your hair in one stroke. Curling the hair goes very fast. It comes with a heat resistant styling glove and a special comb.
According to some articles I read on internet and my own experience I can state that:
- Infrared heats the hair from inside out. I don’t know if this is necessarily a good thing, but obviously this gives a deeper penetration.
- Infrared heats results in less heat damage since it heats the hair from the inside out and does not damage the surface as much. It seems that the heat is more distributed, which I could actually feel when I used this new iron.
- Infrared produces a faster result and the results holds for a few days (in my case).
I also read that infrared heat penetrates the scalp and improves blood circulation in the scalp to carry away toxins and encourage healthier hair growth. I really don’t know about this one but it might contains some truth, because infrared has a lot of benefits for the health if we are to believe what an infrared sauna can do for our body.
I went to my cousin and asked her if I could take a before and after picture of her hair while using my new infrared curling iron.
She first washed her hair and blow-dried it to remove some of the moisture. And then I curled it. I used the hand glove to protect my hand against the heat. Sometimes you can feel the heat through the glove. For each lock of hair I changed the curl direction in order to get a fluffy look.
I really think this clipless curling iron produces salon worthy curls and waves. What do you think? Please leave a comment below. Thanks for reading girls! See you next time.
